Valuation is not an opinion.

Every aircraft we have sold since 2012 is in a database: specification, asking price, time on market, and what it actually closed at. Published valuations describe averages. This describes transactions.

The record

What we closed, and what it was.

Every chart below is our own transaction record: the aircraft this desk closed, not an estimate of the whole market. We publish what we can evidence.

Closings by month

448 aircraft closed over 17 months. Dec ’25 is the December effect our commentary describes: buyers completing before the year end, then a quieter January.

What trades

The SR22 airframe is the centre of this market, which is why our pricing is sharpest there. The turbine and backcountry segments are thinner and move on relationships rather than listings.

Age at sale

How old an aircraft is when it changes hands. The weight sits in the three-to-five year band, late enough to have taken the first depreciation and early enough to be current.

Market observations

Where the Cirrus SR market stands.

Updated February 2026

Inventory

Cirrus SR Series, for sale

Inventory continues to recede from its spring ’25 high, and the total number of units for sale declined again month on month. The share of the fleet on the market is holding around 5%. We now read that as the normal level rather than a tight one.

Supply

Cirrus SR Series, new listings

New supply fell sharply again last month and was absorbed entirely by demand. Aircraft entering the market are meeting a buyer rather than accumulating.

Demand

Cirrus SR Series, sold

January closed at 73 units market-wide, up 17% year on year, against a widely held expectation of a slowdown once the December tax benefit passed. Q1 will not match Q4, as it never does, but supply and demand are in balance. Sellers who price to the evidence are transacting. Buyers waiting for a distressed seller are not.

Observations are Aerista's own reading of the market at the date shown, published for the Cirrus SR segment. Ask us for an analysis of a specific segment or a valuation of your aircraft.
